Blog Article #9

So I know that you all want to hear about the epic battle of a game that happened between all of the teenage girls that were hanging out with us on the Friday night. So it basically ended up being a one ended battle with…
US WINNING!!!! It was actually fantastic, we got an early break away by answering the first three questions right and we were un-catch able afterwards, you should have seen us. Really, we were three spaces or more ahead of everyone else on the other teams. I felt so smart because I knew the answer to almost all of the questions (but just to let you in on a little secret… I was older than almost everyone there by almost a year). Then on Saturday, My friend from Germany and I went to school at once again (the forbidden hour) 8:00 for school. Lucky me really because we are the only school in all of Bourges that is open on Saturday…Yeah.

So on Sunday it was another lazy day with out anything really going on, but I was slightly dreading the week coming up because on Friday we were going to have 3hrs of French class and in 2 of those hours a test… yeah! Also on Tuesday I was going to have tests in Physics, Chemistry, Math and Spanish…seriously I think that all of the teachers got together and decided that this week they need to give us tests. Or maybe it was because the next week was going to be VACATION!!!! 12 whole, uninterrupted days of no school, no life, I’m joking… it was going to be fantastic. So the week ended up passing seriously quickly with only the tests being the downer point in my week. So as we all know on Thursday afternoon I have no classes and it’s up to me what I would like to do. So for this Thursday with my friends I went around Bourges for a little bit and because they had classes in the afternoon. I had time to myself, so I ended up going to the “Musée de Berry”. This museum holds the history of the region of Berry, which is where the city of Bourges resides in. There were articles of ancient civilizations, medieval times and Ancient Egypt. So that was interesting for me being the big history buff… even though I understood none of the French because it was short forms, abbreviations and words specific to these different times. Now I know that I have been getting better at French generally over these past two months and now I understand a lot better, but I had no idea what so ever what was written for each article in the museum.

So finally Friday was the three hours of French “Chinese Water torture”, seriously I kid you not it was the most ridiculous test that I have ever written. I honestly think that my dictionary has permanent finger indents on the cover from me opening and closing the dictionary so many times. I don’t think that over the past three months I have opened my dictionary as many times as I had opened it during those 2 hours. On Saturday at 10 minutes to 10, my entire class were sitting on the edge of our seats, just waiting for the bell to ring, signaling that we would be able to go to live our lives and have VACATION! Really I don’t think I have seen the French students show this much enthusiasm ever before in class than right then… really they were kind of resembling Canadian students, It kind of gave me this funny sense of déja vu. Oh yeah, it’s called every Friday afternoon in Canada. So now we are free for the next whole week, and I bet you want to know what happened for vacation but… well you know.

Talk at you later.
