Blog Article #10

Vacations here I come. Seriously, I could hear the sleep calling out to me. You know what I’m talking about, you know when you feel like you have been running on like an hour of sleep. Well that’s what I felt like but definitely worse.
So the vacation couldn’t have come at a better time. Well as you know the first thing that I was going to do was sleep. That’s an obvious one, but the other thing I was going to do was finish the first and second seasons and consecutive One Tree Hill episodes. In French obviously, but with English subtitles just because it is really different between the French and the English. Practically like they wrote a whole new script for the French. So I figured I would do that and it would be all good. What I forgot is that once I start something I more often than not have a really strong need to finish the entire thing, especially if I like this thing. And I like One Tree Hill, it’s actually one of my favourite TV shows, I had just forgotten. Well after the third episode I had quickly remembered. So Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I did home work, drew and watched… yep you guessed it, ONE TREE HILL. Did I ever tell you how good a multi-tasker I am. I guess not but that is definitely one of my new resume skills. Seriously I think that while I was watching the show was the best time that I did my homework. It was like someone had light a fire underneath me. It was American History this, French that, Math here, English there, it was truly crazy.

So on the Tuesday and Wednesday my host sister went to Lyon for a exposition so I had nothing to do besides what I have already discussed, you know (the homework, drawing, One Tree Hill). So on Tuesday my little host sister and I went to the movies and viewed two films, the first was “The Petit Nicholas” which I had read in French class last year so I knew the general story and characters that went along with the movie so that was pretty general and easy to understand. And the second movie that we watched was G-Force (Mission G in French) in 3-D. This was okay once again because like with “The Petit Nicholas” I had already heard of the story so I knew what would happen. The next day that we did something in particular was Thursday because there was going to be a party at our house for my host sister’s sixteenth birthday. I know you’re thinking “Wait, I don’t understand. I thought she already turned sixteen in September or something?” Yeah well it turns out that the French aren’t quite like the Canadian’s who party whenever we get a chance they wait until they can party hard and not have a Monday morning to look forward to. It’s kind of smart I guess. So back to the party I figured that it was going to be good because everything else that had happened so far in France had been good. So my host sister and I spent the entire afternoon cooking and setting up for this party. Then everyone arrived… and it was good you know there was good French food, music (more often than not English) and people. To me that seems like a good combination and definitely a party.

Yeah, it was a party all right, especially when I got up in the morning went upstairs, looked at the floor and decided it was safer to go back to bed. So that’s what I did I went back to bed so that instead of waking up at 8 in the morning like I had originally, I woke up at noon. I think that it was a pretty decent time, almost everyone who had slept over due to their “unfortunate” circumstance had gone home, and the start of cleaning up. Yeah, the perfect time. So to explain what this floor looked like: take a tile and a little bit of everything that you have in your fridge, mix the two together and then leave the two over night. Now you have some idea what the ENTIRE FLOOR looked like. Seriously it was gross and I definitely should have counted how many times we swept and washed the floor because honestly it was a ridiculous amount of time.

But finally we were finished, so it was time to put everything back where we had found it. So I went to put back the garbage bin in the bathroom, forgetting that the window was open and guess what I did? Yeah, you guessed right, I smacked the top of my head off the corner of the window. And it hurt like heck… so the first thing that I did was put ice on it and after about 5 minutes it was back to normal and felt all better. So I figured that it was going to be all right, yeah well it would have if I hadn’t been all nosy and scratched/ rubbed the top of my head searching for a bump and instead found a cut that I made bleed. So that was good I suddenly had a bleeding head, but me being super (I’m joking; well sort of)  it was fine with in two minutes of starting so I think that it was only a shallow cut. Which is good because I was not finished making my rounds at all of the parties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. You know how it is…

Talk at you later.
