On a YES Canada High School Student Exchange Program you will discover a new country, learn another language and culture, make new friends, live with a host family, and study new and exciting topics! You can do all of this in one of our many international student exchange destinations. With YES Canada we encourage you to Learn, Travel, and Experience!
No matter where you choose to go, your education is our priority. Learning the language, culture and curriculum is very important. We have selected participating schools where you study abroad. These schools meet our high academic standards, located in regions where we can be sure that your experience will be authentic and safe. These schools are chosen for their excellent resources such as: gymnasiums, libraries, technology facilities and auditoriums; as well as school grounds. Within our International Student Exchange Destinations we have schools with specialized focus in music, sports, creative arts and technology to allow you to broaden your horizons and your talents.
Your Exchange Program Studies will consist of core curriculum subjects such as:
mathematics, science and English.
Elective courses on Exchange include:
areas of language, technology, creative arts, humanities and social science.
Class hours range from 9 am to 3:30 pm, five days a week. Courses include teacher instruction, group activities and individual learning programs with a mix of local and international students. We provide small class instruction with Specialist ESL instructors (English as a Second Language) available to provide English language support. Within each Student Exchange Programs Destinations an International Student Coordinator will welcome each of our YES Canada exchange students upon arrival at their new school, remaining available for advice and support for the duration of the student’s studies. Other support staff include guidance counselors, peer support coordinators and career advisers.
Extra-Curricular Learning within one of our International Student Exchange Destinations- The Fun Stuff!
Not all learning is done inside the classroom. We encourage our foreign exchange students to get involved in extra-curriculum clubs, sports and activities; whatever inspires you to get involved and interact with new people. The best way to make new friends and have great experiences within our Student Exchange Programs Destinations is to join in!
