Living the life of a high school student in Italy was an incredible experience that I will never forget. Although it was my first trip away from home, I had such a welcoming host family and met so many people that made sure that I felt right at home and helped me take every opportunity to embrace their wonderful culture. I fell in love with the romantic Italian language that I am determined to keep studying.
Traveling to Rome, the eternal city, with its two thousand years of history, art and culture, to Venice with its famous canals and gondolas and Florence with its majestic cathedrals, art galleries and boutiques opened my eyes to the rich history and beauty Italy has to offer. No textbook could ever replace living the “dolce vita” (sweet life) in Italy!
