Yes Canada helped me discover Germany through its beautiful regions, history and people. Mainly destroyed during World War II, Germany has re-built to become a unique and wonderful country to visit and learn about.
As well, Germany has incredible scenery to enjoy from its wonderful rivers with charming castles beckoning from the cliff sides, to the Black forest in the South and the Alps shared by Germany and Austria. Of the many different cities I explored in Germany, Cologne presented remarkable German cuisine as well as one of the oldest Gothic Cathedrals in all of Europe, Berlin fulfilled my desire to learn more about Germany's history, while thriving as a sophisticated metropolitan city, and Munich offered an older side of Germany that had not been ruined by war. Germany also has many small towns that still maintain their traditional culture and architecture. Germany is the place to visit if you are looking for culture, history and startling scenery.
